United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
Dinovate Solutions partnered with the UNDP to produce the Borderland Documentary Series, an 11-episode exploration of resilience and innovation in Africa's border communities set in multiple African countries. Each episode highlights unique stories of individuals and communities overcoming challenges through ingenuity, cooperation, and determination.
The series aimed to raise awareness, inspire policy change, and promote development by showcasing real voices and authentic experiences.
This series effectively supports UNDP’s mission of fostering sustainable development and resilience in Africa’s borderlands.
Mastercard Foundation, Women Farmers Advancement Network (WOFAN)
Dinovate partnered with the Women Farmers Advancement Network (WOFAN) on the Integrated Community-led Network of Hope Scale-up (ICON2) Project, supported by the Mastercard Foundation. The ICON2 Project is an ambitious agricultural initiative aimed at creating decent and sustainable employment opportunities for 675,000 youth aged 18 to 35 across ten Nigerian states and the FCT.
Despite its transformative potential, the project initially faced challenges with visibility and communications, relying heavily on traditional channels. Dinovate stepped in to design and implement a dynamic communications strategy that brought the project’s impact to the forefront. We produced a wide range of content—from compelling success stories and engaging video narratives to high-impact visual campaigns—highlighting how the ICON2 Project is changing lives and empowering a new generation of young farmers in Nigeria.
Beyond external visibility, we also worked closely with WOFAN to enhance internal communications systems, streamline stakeholder engagement, and establish a robust knowledge management framework. This ensures that critical lessons, tools, and best practices are captured, shared, and scaled across the sector.
Our collaboration with WOFAN reflects Dinovate’s broader mission to amplify the voices behind development initiatives and drive social change through creative and strategic media solutions.
African Development Bank (AfDB), ADEA
In 2024, Dinovate partnered with the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) to document the groundbreaking impact of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) initiative across African schools.
Our journey began in Zambia, where we brought to life the transformative story of one learner—an entry point into the wider narrative of TaRL’s success. Through this powerful personal account, enriched by interviews and our signature visual storytelling, we explored how TaRL is helping children overcome learning gaps, build foundational skills, and unlock new opportunities.
From Zambia, our storytelling lens expanded to Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya, Angola, and Nigeria. We engaged with high-level officials from ADEA and TaRL, educators on the frontlines, and learners directly benefiting from the initiative. These diverse voices and experiences are forming the backbone of a feature-length documentary that captures the wide-reaching educational transformation being led by TaRL.
This partnership with ADEA and AfDB underscores Dinovate’s commitment to advancing education through powerful storytelling. By documenting these remarkable journeys, we aim to inspire action and advocacy—toward a future where every child across Africa has access to education that truly empowers.
The World Bank
Since 2021, Dinovate has proudly partnered with the World Bank to capture and share the inspiring stories emerging from the Nigeria for Women Project (NFWP).
Through vivid storytelling and compelling visuals, our documentary spotlighted the extraordinary resilience, ingenuity, and dedication of Nigerian women who have significantly enhanced their livelihoods with the project's support. Each narrative authentically portrays their personal journeys—highlighting their challenges, celebrating their victories, and demonstrating the profound transformation driven by economic empowerment.
The Nigeria for Women Project, a flagship initiative by the World Bank, strategically supports the Nigerian Government’s commitment to gender equality. It addresses deep-rooted barriers to women's economic prosperity, building essential social assets and facilitating their active participation in economic life. This approach marks a pivotal step towards inclusive poverty alleviation across Nigeria.
Dinovate's collaboration has amplified the voices and experiences of these remarkable women, underscoring the powerful impact of gender-sensitive and responsive initiatives. Our work with the World Bank aligns seamlessly with our vision of fostering a future where Nigerian women lead empowered lives, equipped with the tools to sustainably overcome poverty.
International Water Management Institute (IWMI)
Dinovate collaborated with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) to implement a robust multimedia storytelling initiative grounded in the Photovoice methodology. This participatory project empowered community members in rural and climate-impacted areas to tell their own stories—through photography, documentary, and podcast production.
Our deliverables for this project included:
This multimedia approach amplified local perspectives and helped connect field realities with policy spaces. It reflects Dinovate’s commitment to inclusive, participatory communication that places communities at the center of development conversations.
WaterAid Nigeria
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dinovate collaborated with WaterAid Nigeria to develop and roll out a comprehensive Social and Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) strategy focused on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). The campaign aimed to prevent the spread of the virus by:
This partnership demonstrated how storytelling, community voice, and SBCC can work together to save lives and influence long-term public health behaviors.
UNDP
As part of our commitment to inclusive research communication, Dinovate partnered with the UNDP Africa Borderlands Centre to co-develop the Africa Borderlands Data Encyclopedia. This innovative digital publication compiles critical data, research, and community insights into one accessible knowledge product. It serves as a vital advocacy and storytelling tool, designed to support policy influence, donor engagement, and long-term development in Africa's borderland regions. The project demonstrated how data and narrative can be woven together to empower marginalized voices and shape a more equitable future.
