The Brief

To deliver a final Hygiene Behaviour Change (HBC) design package for national and state-specific hygiene promotion and behaviour change campaigns ready for production and implementation. (This included but was not limited to policy briefs, radio jingles, TV skits, infographics, posters, fliers, handbills, billboard messages, and cues for communities and healthcare facilities)

Insight

To develop the most suitable visual materials for the task, we had to keep in sight the priorities of the partnership as well as their strategies and approaches to sustainable development in Africa and other regions of the world. We also gained insight into the target audience to whom the visual materials would be tailored to and ensured that all communication outputs were consistent with the overall message.

Our Strategy

A comprehensive research, including qualitative and quantitative data collection, to identify key drivers and motivators for hygiene behaviour changes relevant to the target population.

Additionally, understanding the social, economic, and environmental context in which the campaigns will be implemented, as well as involving local stakeholders and communities in the design process, was crucial.

Working with guidelines from the World Health Organization, We developed messages on handwashing with soap, food hygiene, respiratory hygiene, social distancing, cleanliness, referral, and isolation. We also ensured that all communication output which included animations, cartoons, illustrations, and radio jingles, was consistent with the overall communication objectives.

The Result

A creatively crafted Hygiene Behaviour Change (HBC) design package for national and state-specific hygiene promotion and behaviour change campaigns. This included an eye-catching, visually appealing animation and an Innovative yet simply designed policy briefs, radio jingles, TV skits, infographics, posters, fliers, handbills, billboard messages, and cues for communities and healthcare facilities.
